Beyond awareness: The strategy that supercharged revenue growth.

In 2024, Sunnyside implemented an intentional, full-funnel strategy, cutting YouTube, CTV, and Linear spend by 44% and spending 8% more on Google, Meta, Display Retargeting, and Shoppable Video campaigns versus the previous strategy which leaned on YouTube and CTV campaigns for upper-funnel awareness  We also introduced YouTube TV Sports to more effectively reach sports and fitness-focused audiences, while activating awareness campaigns earlier in the season. By stacking CTV and YouTube, we created a cohesive cross-channel presence that built sustained momentum leading into the peak holiday period. Despite 9% less overall spend YoY, the refined approach delivered a 32% lift in net sales and a 3x increase in conversion rate, proving strategic efficiency outperforms sheer media spend.

The new owners of Xcel called Sunnyside not long after acquiring the brand from Boardriders to rebuild the ecommerce channels from top to bottom.
